Five rules for wearing floral prints

Hey lovelies. …. we can hardly make it past summer without saying the ‘F’ word. Floral prints are definitely a summer staple.

Deciding which floral print to wear can be the problem. Is there any such thing as a dated print? Are some prints more suited for specific sessions ? ????πŸ€”

Fashion rules are there to be pushed and broken. But here are 5 rules to help you in wearing floral prints this summer.

Rule  No. 1

Wear whatever print makes you happy and comfortable . During the summer months you might find that larger sized  prints are more suited to match the bright and vibrant weather.  During the winter you can get away with adding colour and character to grey and cold days with smaller sized floral prints.

Rule No. 2

It is not a crime to wear floral print on floral print.  It takes a very special kind of person to pull this off.  If you are going the extra mile and wish to wear clashing prints, take care not to over do it. Medium sized prints with small sized floral prints might just be the right balance.
Rule No. 3

Make a statement with your floral print.  Maximum the impact of your floral print by wearing it in a maxi-dress or by draping it in a duster/ kimono.
Rule No. 4

Be brave enough to experiment with colour. Opt for colours which suit your complexion for a girly and fresh look.
Rule No. 5

If you are still not sure how to join the flower power movement, floral embroidery item are on trend and perfect for this season.

Travel diaries – Cargo shorts… are not dead.

I have started getting into shorts and decided to buy cargo shorts for my recent trip. πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ

They seemed fairly easy going and just want I needed for the hot climate.

I didnt think these Cotton Cargo shorts looked so bad with high neck sleeveles’s shirt and my Sam Edelman Fringed Sandals.

Travel diaries -Side split Maxi dress

Summer is not over until we feature a maxi dress. I was in two minds about this dress because it’s much shorter than I would have preferred; but I couldn’t resist the colour.

I think I was saved my side split. A little sexiness and some movement ….I love.

My top tip for wearing ankle swinging maxi dresses is to make sure your shoe / sandal game is on fire.   Your feet are going to be showcased. Make sure they do not disappoint.

Travel diaries- Destination Birthday

My love for traveling has multipled over the years. I love getting to see different parts of the world;the foods, the people, art and culture.

I have been privilaged to spend another birthday in a different country. In all honesty… this is by far the longest birthday celebrations. It seems as though I have been celebrating since I got here on Monday 19th of September  and I am sure the celebrations will continue long after the 23rd.

Birthdays are not quite right without cake. I went back to the Fontanella tea garden for some delicious cake and breathtaking views.

I ended the day with dinner by the yacht marines. Had the most delicious salad. I did not know that salads could be so tasty.

See you soon.  X

Travel diaries -Wide leg trousers.

I have always been a fan of wide leg / Palazzo trousers. I tend to travel with at least one pair on each of my holidays.

This cut of trousers are very flattering for us hippy, voluptuous, curvy, plus size women. Don’t ask me why but it’s something to do with the proportions and the visual illusion created with the trouser leg going straight down from the waist to the hem.

Anyway, I really wanted to share my secret find. Buying good fitting clothing is no easy feat. When Friends and family members tell me that a shop has long length trousers, I usually do not listen. Whats long for an average height woman, may not cut it for a tall sister.

I vaguely remember someone saying that Zara trousers are long in length.  They were on sale and had my size so I added three pairs of trousers to my basket and checked out.

Pleasantly suprised with the fit and length would b an understatement. One pair was actyally sweeping the floor. A luxury tall ladies rarely have.

So if your ever shopping for wide leg or palazzo trousers, I would say give Zara a try.

Do let me know what your experiences are with Zara trousers.

Summer 2016 must haves -Denim dresses

We are well into the summer but it’s not too late to whip out the Denim dress … if you have not done so already.

Denim is so versatile and not to mention it goes with practically everything.

This summer I am totally loving the romantically feminine pinafore denim dress. It compiments the t-shirt under a dress look and gracefully takes me back to my youth.

I am wearing a midi denim dress from Asos. This belted dress nips me in at the waist for the feminine look. Shop this dress here πŸ‘‰

Wearing t-shirts under Spaghetti straps..

Another 90’s blast from the past that has been trending with both celebrities and fashionistas.

This layered look is extra cool. While you might not fancy layering in the hot summer months but this works because the layering is super light.

The easiest way to begin experimentimg with this trend is to layer a white t-shirt under a black spaghetti strap dress.

This t-shirt midi dress from Topshop actually comes as a one piece but is no longer available.

I also styled this orange jumpsuit in the same way with a 3/4sleeve body

For the ultimate supermodel look layer with a slip dress.  I have curated these TALL cross back slip dress from Topshop for just Β£29. I can’t get over the amazing colours. Which is your fav colour ?

Shop these slip dresses here :http://m.topshop.com/h5/product?productId=25196336

Have fun with experimenting with this throw back 90’s style.

5 ways to wear stripes

Everyone has their own rule on whether to wear vertical or horizontal strips. My view is that the only correct rule is the one that you feel comfortable in.

Here are 5 ways I rocked my stripes.

1. Boohoo maxi dress.

I really love the varied thickness in the stripes. It adds so depth to this pattern. This is a piece that can eask be dressed up or down and it cut in a very flattering wrap front style πŸ‘.

This dress was literally a steal from M&S.  Believe me they do the best sales. This dress has the most flattering deep back neck scoop.

3) Asos Strappy vest dress.

This easy peasy vest dress is great for all occasions this summer.

4) Newlook Culotte jumpsuit

Fed up wearing Jean, skirts and dresses. This jumpsunit culotte can and will add variety to your summer wardrobe.
