Girl power – Power suit.

Girl power is taking over and we are doing it looking fierce and fabulous in all shades of power suits.

Take your average work suit and sprinkle a little rainbow dust on it for the ultimate power suit. This trend is all about varied fits and vibrant coloured suits.

There is literally a suit to suit everybody, even if it means pairing items from different shops.

I loved the colour of these cropped trouser so much that I hunted them down from Dorothy Perkins. I then paired it with a jacket from Zara for my personal take on power suits. This pairing cost me less than Β£80 and saved me approximately Β£40. The colours are not perfectly matching but it looks intentional and helps to break up the look.

What are your thoughts on this look. Personally I think its a double win. Even when you are not having such a great day, a power suit will have you winning.πŸ€—

Just in case you need more inspiration. Check out this power suit from the Asos tall range

Diy Pearl Jeans -Tall girlsΒ

Hey friends,

It’s almost the end of summer and I desperately wanted to join the pearl jeans gang. I think it looks so cool paired with white sneakers or mules.

I searched the internet and found not one pair of tall pearl jeans.  I wasn’t gonna to let this go…. the idea of buying a regular pair of jeans and making it work crossed my mindπŸ€”πŸ€” but I didn’t want to settle for that.

I had just bought a new pair of Joni Jeans from the Topshop sales. So I decided to make my very own pearl jeans.

Whenever I go to Walthamstow market, I feel like a kid at a candy store. I love checking out the fabric and haberdashery stores. My mind literally wonders as I think about all the things I can customise or make.

I bought a chain pearls for Β£1. It contained about 100 pearls, although I can’t tell you the size.

Deciding where to place the beads was easy. I wanted something eye catching so I sewed the pearls randomly by the ankles of the Jeans and along the waist/thigh area.

It turned out more beautiful than expected.  Totally worth the hard work of making a knot behind each pearl.  I have since learnt that I could have used pearl rivets to speed things up… maybe next time.

I finish this look by pairing my pearl jeans with an asymmetric hem top from Zara and mules from Dorothy Perkins.  Read more about these shoes here

Cold Shoulder Dress

Some trends are fleeting but this is one that I think will stay for a while. What I love most about this trend that it is a very simple way of showing some skin whilst remaining modest. I would recommend this for my corporate friends too.

The shoulder is extremely beautiful and very sensual, hence this trend is very flattering. To top it all off… this dress has a wrap front.  I love this feature in dresses and I think it works well for the curver body.

I made the best find while shopping for cold shoulder dress.  I bought the little beauty from ASOS tall.  This is a classic less is more dress.  It cost less than Β£15 but it looks like so much more. You are in luck as there are a few sizes left.  Shop this dress HERE

I completed this look with a pair of shoes from New look and a Zara Large purse.

Hope I pulled this Β£11 dress off with class and style.  Let me know your  thoughts

Hunting for a denim shirt dress!!

Each summer am always on the look out for the Ultimate denim shirt dress.  Am pretty convinced that if or when I eventually find the perfect one for me I will keep it for the rest of my life.

I am very serious because denim dresses never go out of style so you can wear it year after year …after year.

I recently bought this denim dress from River Island because I love that fact that it has popper front fastenings.  I literally can’t stand doing up buttons and I certainly don’t have the patience to button a whole dress shirt. Between me and you …there is also something very satisfying about ripping poppers open πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ.

This dress is from the plus range and I bought a Size 18. It is such a cool denim colour but it’s like am wearing my little sister dress 😩. YtwThis dress was sooo close to being the one but it needs about 4 inches to the length to work for me. The struggle is so real. When you are tall a mini dress can easily become Wini!

At just Β£20 is cute dress would fit perfectly in any wardrobe and you can shop this look here .
I completed this look with a pair of Nike trainers and a head scarf, oh and one tassel earring (very essential)

Guys am still on the hunt for a denim dress.  One that is not too short, just above the needs would be perfect.  All suggestions welcomed 😘😘

Thanks in advance. See you soon.

Five rules for wearing floral prints

Hey lovelies. …. we can hardly make it past summer without saying the ‘F’ word. Floral prints are definitely a summer staple.

Deciding which floral print to wear can be the problem. Is there any such thing as a dated print? Are some prints more suited for specific sessions ? ????πŸ€”

Fashion rules are there to be pushed and broken. But here are 5 rules to help you in wearing floral prints this summer.

Rule  No. 1

Wear whatever print makes you happy and comfortable . During the summer months you might find that larger sized  prints are more suited to match the bright and vibrant weather.  During the winter you can get away with adding colour and character to grey and cold days with smaller sized floral prints.

Rule No. 2

It is not a crime to wear floral print on floral print.  It takes a very special kind of person to pull this off.  If you are going the extra mile and wish to wear clashing prints, take care not to over do it. Medium sized prints with small sized floral prints might just be the right balance.
Rule No. 3

Make a statement with your floral print.  Maximum the impact of your floral print by wearing it in a maxi-dress or by draping it in a duster/ kimono.
Rule No. 4

Be brave enough to experiment with colour. Opt for colours which suit your complexion for a girly and fresh look.
Rule No. 5

If you are still not sure how to join the flower power movement, floral embroidery item are on trend and perfect for this season.

Travel diaries – Cargo shorts… are not dead.

I have started getting into shorts and decided to buy cargo shorts for my recent trip. πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ

They seemed fairly easy going and just want I needed for the hot climate.

I didnt think these Cotton Cargo shorts looked so bad with high neck sleeveles’s shirt and my Sam Edelman Fringed Sandals.

Travel diaries -Side split Maxi dress

Summer is not over until we feature a maxi dress. I was in two minds about this dress because it’s much shorter than I would have preferred; but I couldn’t resist the colour.

I think I was saved my side split. A little sexiness and some movement ….I love.

My top tip for wearing ankle swinging maxi dresses is to make sure your shoe / sandal game is on fire.   Your feet are going to be showcased. Make sure they do not disappoint.

Travel diaries- Destination Birthday

My love for traveling has multipled over the years. I love getting to see different parts of the world;the foods, the people, art and culture.

I have been privilaged to spend another birthday in a different country. In all honesty… this is by far the longest birthday celebrations. It seems as though I have been celebrating since I got here on Monday 19th of September  and I am sure the celebrations will continue long after the 23rd.

Birthdays are not quite right without cake. I went back to the Fontanella tea garden for some delicious cake and breathtaking views.

I ended the day with dinner by the yacht marines. Had the most delicious salad. I did not know that salads could be so tasty.

See you soon.  X
