Travel Diaries – Uber- Lagos worst kept secret

image

If you don’t have a car in Lagos YOU are finished❗❗❗
I don’t drive out here or have a car at my disposal at all times.

I was so anxious about this because you can’t always rely on people and taking taxi’s all the time can become costly.  Not being able to move around freely will put a real dampener on your holiday.

I was told that UBER  was effective in Lagos but I did not believe it.
On getting to lagos I tried my Uber app and it WORKED. I requested for a taxi and it arrived within 15 minutes of the request.

I was pleasantly suprised that the driver called me within minutes of the request to confirm the booking and pick up address.
The car that arrived was clean and had A/C 🙌🙌🙌🙌 *woohoo*.
The biggest shock was to find that the pricing was very very reasonable. Even cheaper than the rubbish local taxi’s here.

I am giving Uber Nigeria /Lagos  a huge 👍👍👍👍

My only issue is that this great service has not been marketed well. Most people here are still unaware of the service.  … what a shame .

Till the next post ✌✌✌&❤❤❤

Travel Diaries -Worst kept secret in Ikeja 🆖 ‘B Natural spa’

Since I have been out in Nigeria the hammertan has made the whole environment dry and very dusty. No doubt this has taken its toll on my feet.

A friend recommend a spa called ‘B Natural’ at Isaac John street in Ikeja. Sincerely I had no expectations because I have been stung by some real cow boys out here ( I learnt to ‘shine my eyes ‘ 👀👀 the hard way) .
Anyway….. cut a long story short. I had a pedicure at this spa and they exceeded ALL expectations.

Back in the UK very few salons or spa locations include a leg massage when you book for a pedicure.

The treatment cost me just 4000 naira which is the equivalent of less than £15.
I am still in shock at the great service I received.
I was suprised to see that the pedicurist was a man. However, I soon put these thoughts to the back of my mind because he was full of muscles and very good with his hand. 😄😄💆💪😍😃😃😉
*check video on my instagram *
The location was clean and cool. The staff were polite and complimentary. My feet look great and feel baby soft. Mehnnn !!! what more could I ask for.

If you are ever in the location be sure to check out B Natural.

See you soon.

It’s an early start for me today.  Time truly flies when your having fun; but in Lagos more time is spend in traffic or in rescheduling a plan that has not gone according to plan.

Travel diaries – How to wear leather in a warm climate

I always wondered how people in Nigeria can wear jackets, and tights given that the weather is so warm… I mean so Hot.

I found the most gorgeous pleather skirt from River Island and I just had to travel with it.
My friend told me that the way to survive in this Nigeria heat is to go from AC to AC.
I did just that😃😃😃😃 and pulled off this fabcheek look.

Shoes for sandals -Travel Diaries

It’s taken over 12 hrs to get to my destination Abiriba in Nigeria. This is a small village in Abia State and am proud to say that this is where am from!
Home is differently where the heart is. Feels so good to be amongst old family and friends. I have met up with people who I have not seen for years and the catch up has been real to say the least.

Follow my travel diaries over the next few days. The Internet situation is real but bare with me as I try to keep a daily log of outfits and activities.

Travel Diaries – Guide to packing a Travel Suitcase

I couldn’t think of a better way to spend the new year than in a different environment.  A relaxing space to reflect on the days gone and pray about the days ahead.

My mission was to travel without checking in my whole life.
I followed the following steps to achieve this goal.

1- Research your travel destination. This instantly gives your packing purpose and you do not have to pack for different eventuality because you know what weather to expect at your chosen destination and what local vascinities to expect.

2- While packing, I found that having everything I wanted to take with me was really helpful. I was able to visually create outfits and consider which items would be most versatile so that I didn’t over pack.

image

3- I chose to pack several neutral items. You might wonder how I managed to pick all those items into my suitcase ? That takes me to point 4.

4- I learned that rolling your clothing items is the best way to pack and make the most of your luggage space. I did just that and strategically squeezed all the items I wanted to travel with into my luggage.

And there you have it!

5- Shoes were bagged and packed last because I didn’t want the heels to get damaged in transit. Do not forget to distribute the weight of the suitcase evenly.

I will keep you updated on my travels once I get to my destination.

See you soon.
